US/CA Shipping Update

Hi All,

I know you are all eager for shipping updates and Lee and I appreciate your patience through this time. As you all know we have been experiencing worldwide freight disruptions and delays. Some shipments are hit harder than others and are experiencing a lot longer than the “normal” delays for reasons unfortunately out of our control.

Freight Set Up

This is the situation. We were working with two manufacturers: one that made the beautiful handmade PU leather products (Tomes & DM Screens) and the other that made the game products (Reference Cards and Inspiration Coins). We had two freight boats from each manufacturer leaving for each fulfillment region worldwide. Ships made it to port in the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand regions between October and December 2021, allowing fulfillment for those regions to commence and complete. Backers in those regions now have their Tome of Summoning rewards. The freight boats for the USA, Canada, and other outlying areas were the first ones to leave and expected to arrive mid November. One boat has made it to our US/Canada fulfillment center. One has not. As a result, we have all the Tomes and Screens waiting with our fulfillment partner with no Reference Cards or Coins. This has obviously held up all US, CA and other fulfillment since most packages have both.

Where we are

This last boat (the first boat to have left the manufacturer) dropped off the cargo in New York in December and has been stuck there ever since. It’s not just the holiday season but also the underlying congestion issues that have been ongoing now for the better part of a year. It is the last leg of the shipment but also the most unpredictable one. This has obviously been extremely frustrating for us and I am sure for you all but unfortunately it is completely out of our control and all we can do is wait.

What to expect

Rest assured we are doing our best to provide you all with any updates we get as soon as we can, but in the meantime we ask for your patience. Once the cargo makes it to our fulfillment partner we expect the processing and fulfillment to commence pretty quickly. If you are expecting any address changes please feel free to email me your updated mailing address at [email protected]. Please note: We cannot deliver to PO Boxes in Canada.

Before we get into more updates, Lee and I wanted to take a moment to let you all know how much we appreciate your support and patience through this incredible journey! Being a two person company we are proud to have come this far and sold in 45 countries around the world! It is so great to hear from all of you and all the lovely comments and ideas you have shared!

UK/EU/Rest of Europe:

All shipments for the UK/Europe region are now complete. We're seeing pretty significant delays with courier service due to holiday and Covid congestion so it may still take a few days for packages to get to everyone but it should be complete by end of next week 🤞.  Yeye!

Asia/Australia/New Zealand:

All shipments for the Asia/Australia/New Zealand are now complete. They've been experiencing Covid restrictions that have caused more delays than anticipated but all backers should have tracking numbers now and packages either delivered or on their way.

US/CA/ RotW:

This year the costs and delays in ocean freight have really been a major issue that we're trying to work through. The delays at the US ports have been more and more of an issue as the year is coming to a close and it is really difficult to determine how long they will be stuck at a port.  Even though our US freight was the first one to leave manufacturing, and the largest, it seems like it will be the last one to arrive. At this time we are projecting the freight to get here by end of the year due to holiday season and Covid congestions. So at this time it is looking like this region may not get their orders before mid-late January. 

We understand that this has taken way longer than predicted due to worldwide freight and supply chain disruptions and we appreciate your support and patience.  We will be making updates on our website www.tomeofsummoning.com and Kickstarter as soon as our last freight gets to our fulfilment center in the US.  There will be an email sent out before fulfillment commences to confirm your mailing address and then tracking numbers will be provided soon after as the items are shipped out. Stay tuned for more.
